In 1990 about 340,884 people 65 years and older

were in Puerto Rico

In 20 years Puerto Rico will have about a half million people 65 years. The 65 to 74 years generation will increase about 2.2% and the 75 years old generation will double before a period of 16 years.

Based on the statistics the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus offers the posibility in the field of gerontology with a certificate and the graduate level.
