Título IX

What is Title IX?

Title IX is one of the amendments of the Federal Department of Education that was enacted into law in 1972. It prohibits sex discrimination in the programs and activities of educational institutions that receive federal funds.

 

It offers protection against situations of sexual discrimination, discrimination on the basis of sexual identity, discrimination against the stereotyped notions of masculine or feminine, sexual harassment, domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault and stalking.
